bah this didn't help me at all 1st try i played 5mins tadaaaaaaa it jammed suprise suprise before that i turned sounds on and started soldat blink blink black screen for 5 secs soldat wont start when i take sounds off it starts but i can play only under 15mins before jamming so over 1 year i did play 1-2 hours day something over 3 hours this last month under 0-10mins on day access violations/soldat jamming/blue screens has ruined my time on soldat...

and that console thing is kinda annoying there should be option to turn it on/off...

You can't see what it fixes cuz the errors don't appear anymore.
Some had that annoying decompression bug (probably replaced the Wrong Map Version) That's fixed now.
The red messages about you bad packet size don't appear any more.

lol someone said yesterday on irc that when you press T you can see other team chat too what they have said on teamspeak :P

Also I forgot to mention that: if you are writing something and then you press fire the chat and console will vanish and you can fight. When you press T again you can finish the message you were writing. So if it annoys you, you can easily get out of it.

Icarius play some rounds and you'll get used to it.
If you haven't read Michal's reply, you can press fire and the console/command line disappears. As soon as you press the chat button you can continue typing.

Michal, if you're gonna change anything, make it an option so I can use the console like it is right now..

It hurts my eyes when I chat [xx(]. How bout a seperate key to open the console, instead of every time we hit T or Y.

deafbox, switching off console will switch off all text, so u won't see any text at the top of the screen at all. and yes, is it possible to bind a different key for console?

Hate to spoil the fun but i think this fix has screwed up my soldat REALLY badly. Crashes about 70% of times i start it up, and then i have to restart. It happened after i installed the fix, but it did work fine for a while afterwards. Is anyone else having problems or is it unrelated?

i have had this problem about 1 month before fix and especially after fix expect my crash is about 100% :)

I don't know exactly what you're referring to by "crashing" but I had a recurrence of the access violation problem after I installed the fix. But it was easily fixed (at least for me) by doing the normal stuff.

mmkay, i cant believe i bothered reading all that. seriously... i know it's good to kiss asses of people important to you.. but not in public? UGH. early chirstmas? all he did was turn those bad packet msgs off, theyre still probably happening... and the console window is plain annoying because I'm a touch typist and i really dont like looking at a full screen of text when im trying to move. i usually talkk when i jump jet forward, that way I'm still moving fairly fast. hard to focus when last matches text pops up in ya face.

but anyways, I thought michal could do better than this...? dissapointed.

yea good work, but i would like to have an extra key to open the console and to have the chatbutton like it was before(without the log on my screen when im typing). and another thing that should be fixed is the chatlength - when u type something and the sentence is too long the rest of the sentence disappears. perhaps u could make it with paragraphs?

but i already like the game like it is now. no bad packet size errormessages anymore, gj.

I like most of the changes the patch makes, but like everyone says, I think having all that text pop up when you hit T to be incredibly annoying. I _really_ think that it should go back to the way it was before. Aside from that, everything is great, though I've noticed that the item frequency settings don't seem to be working very well anymore. I can set only cluster grenades on and have the frequency at maximum, but they still show up no more than if I have the frequency on minimum. Maybe this needs to be looked into?

Okay, forget the chat console... another thing I've noticed is that since version 1.2, it's been hard to impossible to pick up guns off the ground. Sometimes you can throw your own weapon on the ground and pick it back up, and sometimes it sticks and dosen't want to move.

I downloaded the fix onto my upstairs comp and when u c the flag instead of the backround of flag being translucent its white. So i didnt get the fix on my downstairs comp(p 4)..Is it supposed to do that or can my p 3 not handle it.

Dont got no question or anything like that, but, Maz did u just get 1.2, cause if u jst did, ur a bit late dont u think, lol :p

If your flag has a white circle it's because your card can't handle alpha transparency.

Buddah, if running the reg key again doesn't do it, try uninstalling Soldat, reinstall 1.2, then apply the v1.2 fix, then run the reg key. If you have any other questions head over to the bugs/help forum
