Yes, or the "ignore" option, like in irc.

this has been suggested many times.

Why implement it in the dedicated server?
Would make more sense if it was client-side.

e.g. "/mute 3", "/mute whiner" and "/unmute whiner"
the names could be saved in a .txt file

Anyway, great idea.
No drawbacks.

Cliet-Sided is the way to go. Whoever doesnt want to hear someone just mutes whoever it is and thats about how it should be.

Well, client side would either take longer because I bet michal would implement this in the next version first.

and server side would maybe be fastest way to actually have it anywhere.
but michal HAS to do sth like a fix so we can enjoy this neccessary feature :(

(yes, sucky english atm I cant think)

out of the 200 servers available, how many have an admin present? id say less then 20% of them.
so this idea = crap.

i agree there should be some kind of ignore function, but it shouldnt be on the admin/op level, but rather make it an individual preference.

Who hasn't? I know I did... [;)] I fully support this option from the client-side. Server side, not so much.

Client side is the way to go. Server side should get something like /ForceBrutalKill 3 to deal with whiners.

"[WhiningN00b]: R341 m0d3 $uck$ 4$$!!"
"[Server]: Whining detected!"
*SPLAT*
WhiningN00b was killed by Host.

Because kicking those people just brings them back screaming "WTF! You have no right to do that!!" and it gets tiering to explain to people why, on my server, I can do whatever I want.

What?
I'd rather wait for Soldat 1.2.* instead of a new dedicated server that won't be used by everyone.
Client-side definately is the way to go..
