Well, now that v1.2 has been released, I've been trying to get a server working. I, myself, have run into a few problems getting my server running. If you are experiencing problems, please post your problems here and hopefully we'll be able to work through them all.

Right now, I'm running a linux server and getting this message:

Server IP: 127.0.0.1 Port: 23073[/code]which is obviously wrong. even though, since my IP is static, it is set correctly in soldat.ini

Okay, even though it seems to send the lobby server the IP 127.0.0.1, people are getting through to the server. Hense:...but sadly, no one has yet to fully connect and play. =\

Problem 1 Admin tool does not works with linux servers
Problem 2 Him with dificult in getting server UP,cause when someone try to connect it´s all requesting...
Problem 3 Still no show in ASE And Lobby servers. :|

All for now,(And i hope 4 ever)

ahhhh... those arent server problems...

my server runs.
but when i try to join, nothing happens :'(

in the server console is the following: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx requested game...

but skc|r0adkill from selfkill had no problems joining the server.

are there any firewall settings or do i have to forward some ports?

p.s.: i tried his ini too, but it didnt work

phpmasta, are you connecting to your internal or external IP? try 127.0.0.1.

Having a prob with the linux server, all users are kicked and banned for cheating (even me!)

Any ideas

Toadsmoke... i don't know if you changed anything but I joined your server a couple hours ago and just capped a few times by myself.

I played with a few people (They connected through IP) However, registering to lobby doesn't work? I thought this stuff was supposed to be fixed in 1.2 ;[

k also, when I try and start the server (not as root) I get..


Except EInOutError in module soldatserver at 0808CC8E.
I/O Error 13.


Help on that would also be nice..

Try downloading the server again. When I first uploaded the server there was something broken. So if you downloaded the server yesterday please download it again.

i connect to the server external.

the server is many kilometers away from me ;)

the server works, but i cant join it.
but some other servers i can join. but not all of them

I redownloaded the new version, but I still get the EInOutError when I start it up, and when I connect to the server, I immediatly get "Connection Interrupted".

try to set up in your soldat.ini

OMG r0adkill!!@@ It worked.. thanks so much... do you know how I could fix this in the future? (I want to be able to log :\)..

It's a strange error, it doesn't happen on all machines. Probably has to do something with linux version. I have to investigate it and when I fix it I'll release a patch for the server. For now please disable logging if it doesn't work.

also Michal, are there any hopes on getting ASE_register to work on Linux Servers anytime in the near future?

Edit - Michal, when my host runs it at root, he doesn't get the error.. so it could have something to do with permissions (Maybe r0adkill will know? :D)

Well,here is another problem:

I can´t join any server.I tried connecting with IP,i tried with lobby server and every time its just REQUESTING...i tried with ASE too,same. Nope i didnt set LAN[:D]
Well,the point is that everything worked with 115 but since 1.2 i am not able to join any server.

I believe that my firewall causes this(it´s the norton firewall 2002).
When I play a bot game(cg,with the new wep-stats the bots are really good in impossible^^)wich get´s registred in lobby many ppl try to connect,i believe.I believe this caus my fire wall shows me all the IP Blocks when i run a lobby registred Bot Game. When i request the Servers list same,many IP´s get blocked. Well r0adkill told me to open the prot 23083,well maybe good idea,but i can´t open any port,only IP´s with a norton firewall(if i could some1 telle me). Well i installed my old 115 and updated to 1.2,same thing.

I allowed all soldat things in the Firewall options.
