Just wanna know how many people think about the Solo life, or the Clan life; personally I like the Solo life more freedom, learn when you want how you want, and you can not risk getting banned from many differn't servers :P I jsut wish there was a Singles ladder or something, or a Singles Tournament, to prove who is the best Solo player.

I would give out free copies of soldat if there was a ladder ;D.

I'm a single player, thats because I'm not yet good enough for a clan :(.

I could be in a clan, I had a few propositions, but I prefer to be independent.

I prefer being alone, maybe because I don't like rules :D

Being in a clan is good if you do not have obligations

Pros of being Solo:
People think of you as an individual, even as a one man fighting force.
No one thinks twice about the descicions you make.
You can say whatever you want, whenever you want.
You can try out for clans and then blow them off. (Fun as hell, especially when the leader's arrogant. Case in point: Striker: "I'd like to tryout." Clan Leader Bob: "OMG!11!1one You're awesome! I wasn't even trying when you beat me but you've got skilL!" Striker: "[:-censored] you. I'm not joining your clan. ;D"

Cons:
Only people in publics get to taste it. (And it's good. It's all good when it's Striker stytle! ;D)
Teamwork always happens by accident.
When your teammate says "I'll cover you!" he really means he's running in the opposite direction.

Pros for being in a Clan:
Clan matches
Groupies (Okay, maybe not groupies.)
The clan tag DEMANDS respect. (Unless your clan sucks.)
You get to become a specialist. (Capper, for example.)

Cons:
You have to deal with [:-censored]ty clans, full of [:-censored]ty players, with [:-censored]ty attitudes.
You say the wrong thing, and everyone thinks it represents your clan.
No freedom. Especially if you want to join another clan, there's always that "deserter" connotation.

I'm a solo player. I tried out for clans loads all the time I played soldat until recently, because I naturally hate competitiveness - it encourages hostility and agressiveness, which is something that doesn't belong in games I play. This is also why I wouldn't enter a solo ladder.

Im in a clan Da killaz, and loads of people said the clan was rubbish so I either shot them or told them it was a clan for fun.

i was in TRA untill i left, people have been asking me why i left; so heres why: see striker's post. ive got tons of pleas by clans to join em, but im done with them. im not saying that i wont ever join a clan again, but they dont need to ask me, it will be my own descicion to join one of my liking

single life is playing on pubbies, which is pointless

clan life lets you play competitive. In tournaments and such. There is pride for you clan and what not. So i say go join a clan.
But only if they invite you. Dont ask to join a clan.

It would be better to have more organized clan system... I've thought to drop into solo too

It all depends on the clan and the leaders/members. That's that. If it's a good clan with good players join, if not dont. Simple as that.

INDIE IS TEH BEST.
clans are for followers.
Jesus's Vagina looks bad with something on it
Not really any single 1338 clan

I tryed it (DSA), hated it, just wanna be friends

all my friends constantly change clans, so ill just keep em as friends, not clanmates

Never been in a clan. I don't know if I'd join even if I were asked. Yeah there are some respectable clans out there, but there are also too many clans which are "omg, how do i b 1337, o i no, i'll make a clan!!!! then i can b a 'leader' and b important!!!!!"

Being an "individual fighting force" is more my style. The only thing I like about clans is that your skill might be recognized. Playing solo, you just kind of drift around, and few people even recognize your name.

I perfer the clan life myself. Ive been running BA for 2 years this october, and there is nothing like the sense of comradship as you get to know your teamates games inside out, and there is no better feeling than working your [:-censored]ing socks off to win a match, whereas in solo life the games on public servers just dont mean anything.

I've played soldat for a year now, and I've never had the urge to play in a clan. I tried, once, and it didn't even materialize for real. I far more prefer to consider myself a good player on public servers (and a pretty good at that I think), than bitch all day long in a clan getting ownzored by better clans and then have to deal with the leader tell me, "well, gotta become better, you [:-censored]ty player, or you're out". I play soldat because it's damn fun, and I'm content with what public servers can give me (except genuine tards, but then again, it's easy enjoyment).

What I especially hate about clan play is the aggressiveness and hatred that evolves. Hey, it's a freaking game, get a grip!

And furthermore, what should a game of soldat on a REAL (as opposed to public...) server mean? Is there more to it than being a GAME? I don't define my identity by my results in a computer game, nor do I forge any opinion on anyone by their skill with a mouse. The only opinion I'll have of you is either you're a [:-censored]tard because you keep bitching for no apparent reason, either you,re a good pal because you're polite, funny, have good spirit, etc.

I only played m79 duels with a friend for quite a long time before I ventured out on the public arena. CTF was a whole new thing, and it took me quite some time to be able to compete on the public servers. I always saw DNAgames in the lobby, but i didnt know where to get the pass, and so finally i stumbled in here, and after a few tips from meandor, received it, started playing.
My god, I have never been so severely beaten as when i first joined DNA. The level of the players was a whole different thing.
I was pretty confident since I usually dominated the public servers, or, I was at least in the top layer on the score board.
Badly shaken I decided to give it a try, I cant say im always in the upper layer on DNA now either, but im not the worst.
Anyways, Soloing got somewhat boring, I knew what my skill was in a solo game, but teamwork skill in a clan is a whole other story i gussed.

So, go clanning was pretty much the only choice for me, so I APPLIED, ASKED, to join 2wai, after ive been invited to the channel, but still, i asked, shame on me ;), and i got in, and i havent regretted it since.
Of course, there is some effort to make it all work, but for me, it is worth it, the opportunities of playing a really good game is higher, u make good friends etc.
But nonetheless, there are times, when a CW [:-censored]s up, players having access violations, servers goin down, ppl being late etc, that are the downsides.
I guess, that one downside is the pressure I put on miself on trying to play good all the time. But on the other hand, Pressure isnt all bad either, makes u a better player, right?
All in all, for me the choice was, take the game to clan level, or quit. I didnt quit, and ive no plans of doing it either, I quit when it gets booring, right now, it isnt, so ull have to live with my presence i guess ;)

right now, id be picking clans, but for me, in soldat, FL, i stay alone, all conflicts man, im already in one so i stay in [-RAF-]...

you never knows if your soldat clan leader expects you to be at the game saturday, but then capone expects the same, tough to choose in this case, betray [-RAF-], or betray the other guy.
