When I request servers and sort them by ping it's always like: the 5 first are 100 or less, with one or two of them being at 60-90 ping. And all the other are 500+. Is that normal, is that related to the fact I'm located in Canada? What is a good ping anyway? Wich games should I join, the ones under 300, 200, 100..?

Well, an acceptable server is 300 and below (For cable, 56k is 400 and below), 250 is still pretty laggy (350 for 56k :P), and under 200 I really have no problem with lag, just it takes a bit longer for the 'kill' message to show up :) But good servers that you'll have the best time on are 100 and below because then you usually have an advantage over everyone else :)

Oh I see. So even when it's beetween 100-200 it's not that bad. So I guess the weird things / bugs happening once in a while is due to other ppl lagging... Is a perfect game of soldat possible or there's no such thing?

You could play via LAN.. that'd be fine ;)

When everybody on the server has a ping of 0-200, everything should be fine, I think..
