youre having a windows issue, not soldat :)

read here about the windows swap file: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000358.htm

your "hangups" (long loading time) probably happen when windows has used up all the space allocated to the swap file. You should consider increasing the size of the swap file (as is described in the article above) -- also I recommend setting the file to a fixed file size, like for example min 1024mb and max 1024mb -- plus its wise to use the fastest hard drive you have as a location for it :)

Apparently, if he has only 4 MB of free space on his harddrive... he'll need to get a bigger harddrive! :)

yes, but make sure you don't delete anything that windows 98 needs to run ;)

eg. uninstall any games that you don't play, or any files that you don't need.

Also, you might free up a bit of space clearing out your temporary internet files and windows temp.

Delete everything in the folder:

C:/WINDOWS/TEMP

And to clear out your temporary internet files:
In Internet Explorer, go: Tools > Internet Options > General > Delete Files
