Hi there! Im a newbie to map making and I look round and see all these large maps. Im confused how you can make them so big! I use the Soldat Map Maker and I cant manage to do a decent map. I heard you can make some in paint. Is this true? And also can you explain to me how to make some? Thanks!

Well, u can make as big maps as u want as long as ur pc can cope with them, and about "Making maps in paint" i guess u mean like scenery objects like bushes etc. the scenerys are in .bmp format so yes u can do them in paint, but i prefer photoshop because you can make more decent looking pictures in it than in paint.

So really you cant make "Maps" in paint but scenerys yes.

As u probably know maps are made of polygons in soldat, and it's only a matter of patience if you want to make a humongous map.

Yeah but making a big map I mean. Your not limted to the tiny map of the Map Maker.

You may do large maps without zoom. Press and hold right mouse button and move the view.
