Well, I downloaded the new version of the dedicated server for windows, opened the readme file and saw that it said 'SOLDAT DEDICATED SERVER FOR LINUX'
Very confusing. Is this true or is it truly for Windows?

but mine refuses to open. It just flahses a dos-promt window.

you've not set the admin_password in your soldat.ini, that's what the server will say just before it shuts down...always when you are running dos based apps. you are best to open a MS-DOS box first, cd to the apps's dir and then run it, just to you can see any error messages..
