No. Lame.

Everyone would use mines all the time and spam every square inch of the map with them. Plus, can you imagine how annoying it would be to be walking along happy and chipper, and then BLAM, you're dead from some [:-censored]ty mine some dumbass left there.

Also: least original idea. EVER.

There are already mines - granades!
Just lay some of them to the ground and wait till somebody walks over them ;)
The death will be very stylish, and fast.

Too bad these "mines" disappear very fast - but who cares?

This would be the best thing for n00bs/spwaners since the minigun (no offense, Palloco)

Spawn, then get pasted by a mine some lamer laid in your base.

Woo, great idea.

Plus, this has already been posted, before. I reccomend the search button.

As I'm thinking I really wouldn't want to watch out every step I take.
SO NO MINES PLEASE ;D

Just make it mandatory for the mines to be placed a certain distance from the flag and the spawn points, that way, no mine spawnkillers, and no flag mining. Also, make it 1 mine per spawn, and mine disapears on death.

Theres no point in discussing this cause I doubt that they will be implemented!

I was a noob once too.
I thought about that too.
I posted about that too.
I was flamed like that too.

And they were right. :D

Honest: I don't like that idea either. Just throw some grens on the ground as i do in CTF when someone is in pursuit :)

I´ve also thought about mines but it would probably just be irritating and make the game boring. I like the idea of having to look where yopu go but not that some [:-censored]er who´s placed it knows where it is and can use it against you.
Well this is assuming that your talking about proximity triggered mines. Timed mines with 15-20 second fuse and HUGE explosions had been really fun. You should be able to choose one of these as secondary (when you´ve thrown it away you´d have to use fists or find a new weapon).

Or, we could just not implement mines at all, and forget about ever having them.

Umm, there are a bunch of mines out there, which one would we use? Plus, mines are lame to play with, I never use em in any game. Plus, in Soldat, that would be very campish IMO.

Mines = Death Polygons.

EDIT: Yes, my previous post was sarcasm.

if you put mines, that would slow down the game because people would always have to look where they are going even if there are no enemies in the vicinity. And Soldat is supposed to be a fast paced game...I'd like it to stay that way...
