Because it slowed down the whole forum when you searched every single topic for one word?

ok, this seems to be the most common error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e31'

Timeout expired

/search.asp, line 460

i passed it along to an associate who's an asp guru, and he recommends:

Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

conn.ConnectionTimeout = 0

This sets the connection to no timeout.

maybe this ill help.

EDIT:

if this doesn't work, he said you could pass along the script and he'd check it out for any bug problems.

the prob. with setting the timeout to zero is that if someone searches for the word 'soldat' and then leaves the browser window running it will take hours to complete the search and the whole time it would be killing the forum...ho hum
