I have a problem which is, if I'm not connected to the internet, AOL randomly opens up and tries to connect to the internet. I don't know why it does this, but I'm guess it's because another application is trying to connection, therefore it opens AOL.

..Any suggestions?

I dunno enough about the AOL software etc... what do you use to connect? some program that came with a AOL CD? do you use the standard windows connection thing?

maybe it's just AOL trying to check mails.. dunno :)

Happened on the computer of my father.
According to him he was just searching for some fonts or Midis for his keyboard and the next day *something* wanted to connect to the internet. If it did, popups came up.. adware :)

it could even be a trojan

just run all those scanners (adaware, spybot, antivirus)
uh, and check the running applications..
