Do you keep the basic soldat controls or do you tweak with em a little bit before you start playing?

i personally keep the wasd then i set my mid mouse wheel click for gren, left mouse for fire, right mouse for jet, left switch for change weapons, left ctrl for drop weapon and f for prone. It works out really well for me.

What about you? what do *YOU* use?

Left-right arrow keys for movement.
Up arrow for jetpack, down arrow for crouch.
Left mouse for fire, right mouse for grenade.
Right shift key is jump. Numpad 1 is prone.
DEL key to throw weapon, END key to reload, PAGE DOWN to switch.

Kind of strange, but it works for me.

Shoot - left click
grenade - right click
fly - middle mouse
change weapon - scroll up
left and right - left and right direction buttons (not wsa and d cos im left handed :D)
prone - 0 on right keypad
throw weapon - end
jump - ctrl
duck - shift

Im pretty fussy about where my buttons are :D

Space - Prone

E - Nades
Q - Change Weapon
R - Reload
Y - Chat
U - Team Chat
X - Prone

What I do is click on what control, in this case throw weap, to set to the space bar. I then hold the space bar, whilst I click on a different tab, such as start game. Then let go of the space bar. Works for me.

X - Prone
Left mouse - Fire
Right mouse - Jet

I found these controls after days of tweaking.

I used this combination before.But since Soldat 1.2 I use the default keys.

Left-right arrow keys for movement.
Up arrow for jump,
down arrow for crouch.
Left mouse for fire,
Right shift key is fly.
right ctrl is prone.
numpad 1 to throw grenade,
numpad 0 to reload,
numpad 2 to change weapon,
numpad 3 to throw weapon

Isnt this a bit of a boring topic? i mean, reading peoples control maps? surely just use what u want, and what works best...?

For the record, I use a slightly modded version of the defaults.

left and right arrows = left and right buttons
up arrow = prone
down arrow = crouch

\ (above the ctrl) = jump

The Default commands are probly the best becuze you can reach every command with only one hand and don't really have to reach all over the place...

When i began to play i had Fire and Nade Throw at the same button, it was really funny, but sucked.

I have always just used all of the default commands, but using the mouse scroll for changing weapons or reloading sounds like it might be good. Actually, perhaps making it the throw button (especially when I use the knife) might be even better.
