sorry if this has been posted before, but... How do you shade?

select darker colors for the corners of each polygon (red green and yellow dots)

You can use two methods. One is with the lighten\darken vertices tools, and the other is just to do it all manually.

To use the lighten\darken vertices tool, first your polygons need to be non-overlapping, well at least not too much. Because if they are then the shading will come out funny. But you can just try it and see how it looks.

Deselect all the polygons, then click the lighten or darken polys button. Now click and drag your mouse around over the map. The polygons around your cursor will be either lighten'd or darken'd, depending on what button you pressed.

This is the really quick and easy way, and it can look really good, but you need to place your polies well. Also if you make all the polygons a custom colour first, then you can get some really nice colour mixing going on.

The manual way is much harder, and really slow. You basically just pick colours for each vertex of each polygon, and make them blend together. This is good for doing multiple colours shading into one another, but it can be hard to get right.

Hope that helps a bit.

Indeed it may be slow, but looks better.
