CTF Sentinels, V1.0 by grand_diablo / Waypoints by Silker Hawk

Description:
Medium-size, quite fast to play ctf_map with bizarre background and scenery. Have fun! [;)]

Scenery-file is now a zip-file, for those who cant dl exe-files.

Mar-31: New Version online, first final one (0.8 > 1.0)

Changelog:
+ fixed one jumpy place
+ rounded up some corners
+ waypoints added by Silker Hawk (gr8 job!)

Mar-29: New Version online (0.6 -> 0.8)

Changelog:
+ Added platforms on both sides, to give the "sentinel area" sense and make the map more playable
+ Added scenery
+ Fixed a polybug

Redownload of scenery pack is necessary. A new screenshot is online, the map is now shown from a closer zoom.

it doesnt look that cool to me....it's just a bunch o dots hiding a rather simple map. im not saying it's bad, im saying to doesnt look all too neat

Of course, this mapstyle doesnt suit every taste, and im glad it is like this (would be boring if we all liked the same things). [;)]

The map is intent to be simple, as i played a damn complicated map today on the DNA server (dont remember the name of the map though, but it wasnt possible to get into fluent movement). Im a fan of maps like ctf_run and ctf_kampf, i dont like it when a CTF map consists of 100s of tunnels, thats even annoying in INF. but of course, there are people who like extremely dungeon-like maps [:)]

Wait, don't. Nice map, although the red team does get the advantage when it comes to hiding the enemy flag in a stalemate.

Needs polygons shading and to my mind, the background is ugly. Moreover,
it's almost useless since it doesn't reach the part on the right.
The red and blue "stuffs" that look like triangles were a good idea,
but it would have been better if they were lianas or things that seem
a bit more realistic and pleasing to see (like bush or jungles trees).
Well the map would have been better if it looked like a jungle. ;)
As for a CTF, it's all wrong. The two parts for each team aren't the
same size and shape, it's not fair to play that...
Ok it's a weird map (maybe too much too),
but it's not as good as the others you made. I don't like this one.
Oh yeah, could you post all the files (map and scenery) in one zip file please?
Nice waypoints anyway! :/

I dont really get what you mean. Pls explain this in detail, so i can try to improve this map on this very place.

The taste-thing again, i wanted it to look surrealistic, and thats exactly what it does [:)]

Did you try out the map with some other players? well, i did, and it came out quite fair. btw. there are some very nice ctf maps out there, where the 2 halfs of the map arent symmetric.

I dont expect every map to be of everyone's taste, and i also expected very differing opinions about ctf_sentinels. Anyways, im thankful for any kinf of constructive criticism [;)]

Posting everything in one file would be a bad idea, cause you would have to dl all again, even if i only improved the map itself and not the scenery.

I loved the other two, but this looks horrible. I liked the realistic background touch, but this is just wacky and weird.

The only thing I dont like about this map is that the texture and the color of the texture dont fit with the background, imo.

A new version of the map is online, with major changes (for changelog look at main posting). A new screenshot is available too, you also must redownload the scenery pack.

If your good at it... would be kewl [:)] cause im rather unexperienced in waypointing.

when you are ready (you mustnt hurry of course), email it to me (grand_diablo@xxl-games.de), then ill make some minor changes/fixes on the polys and release it as a final version.
