1) were u a "lone army" (group of friends or work related game)?
2) what version of DirectX did u use?
3) how long did it take u to make a solid game engine?

I was like Arnie in Commando. Except I wasn't trying to free my daughter but make a game and instead of weapons I had a keyboard.
But the action was pretty much the same.

I think I started with 8.0 and ended with 8.1 or 9.0? hmmm...

Solid? It isn't solid even today :)).
The game had a soldier running on a map and shooting after about 2 weeks of coding. The rest was fixing bugs:)
