I get that error then it says:Could not Initialize Directx graphics, i have direct x 8 or better, it was working before i installed Diablo II and said for it to use Directdraw graphics or whatever, and now i dont know how ot xchange it back to use the mapmaker lol.

i had this error too, but it worked when i installed the latest version of the mapmaker. it can be found here, in case you still have the old version.

if that doesnt fix it, i suggest you reinstall it, and update your videocard drivers.
