Alot of people use Fraps for Soldat, why is that? I found out that pc game cam does a much better job and your recording time is not limited when u dont pay, there's no sound when u dont pay though but its still good, www.planetgamecam.com Unless Fraps is the only way you can record on Soldat, I suggest using this

I think fraps uses some other methood than most screen recorders, which gives better frame rates.

BManx is right, but it seems like "gamecam" uses a similiar/the same method.
I haven't tested it, but both probably only capture OpenGL / DirectX streams.
darkbluetornado: The older version of Fraps (1.9) is freeware: capturing time is not limited, but it doesn't support sound.
The newer one is shareware, but I don't know in what way it's limited.

Unregisted Fraps 2.2.3 can record only for 15 seconds with sound, also the rezolution is cut down on the half.
I don't know well more cuz it doesn't support my OS (it's for XP and some).
