as you can see i'm new to this forum, i write this topic from an airplane, using a compaq laptop, i have a problem entering thee game...
when i start the game, selecting my character and stuff.. bla bla bla
then i ask for servers, then when i join the folowing massage appear : " Error Loading SMALLCRATE.bmp "
now i switched to "Force Software" in the setup application and then when i join a game the screen becoming black and stuck like that...


so as you can see i can't play the game.... [V]
pls help me

my graphic card is : Trident microsystems, CyberBlade i1 using the latest drivers.

Better disable the Software mode and uncheck "Fullscreen" too (afair fullscreen mode + 640*480 causes problems with laptop screens).
I've never heard of that graphic card.. how much memory does it have?

The Trident Cyberblade i1 seems to be in a lot of Compaq laptops.
I also had this same problem, and I ceased trying to fix it. Doesn't seem to be a way around it, and this doesn't seem to have anything to do with the video card, as I have successfully run Soldat before on a Trident Cyberblade. I think the problem lies with something in version 1.2, as older versions of Soldat do not have this problem.
