Sometimes I'll be running around shootin and just havin some good 'ol Soldat fun, when all of a sudden i go into a little ball that hovers a little bit off the ground, and won't be able to shoot or stand up. I can still fly, but the directional buttons won't work, and in order to move one direction, I have to point the mouse in the other. I'll be stuck like this usually for either 5 minutes, or until someone kills me. So what's my problem?[?]

prone, and yer out of it. it's called crouchfloating, and it used to be really easy to do and cheat with :P

This has been reported before and as peemonkey said, you can get out of it by proning.
