this just recently started happening, when I go to start soldat, I get the splash screen, and I'd say 3 times out of ten, before the intro movie even starts, the game resizes my screen resolution, and then just locks, it flashes back to my desktop, and I'm struck, it's not really a bug, just more of an annoyance I'd like to either know how to fix, or subvert alltogether. Thanks.

Try turning intro movie off. And try starting windowed.

well, the intro movie is turned off but I'll give windowed a try...

Mkay.... now when I try and change it from windowed, to fullscreen mode, before I even get into soldat's "config" I get " config has created an error in user.exe"... any suggestions ( other than save my pennies for new hardware) I'm on my fiance's box, it's a pos: WinME, 1.2ghz Pentium, on-board intel graphics, 512k ddr, 500mhz FSB,DirectX 9.0b, 80gb Western Digital (45% open recources). I miss the penguin box :(
