When I start Soldat it just gives me a blank black box (I have a TRIDENT 3D Image 9750).

First off, there's no nice way of putting this: you video card sux. :)

Chances are you won't be able to play Soldat.

Soldat uses direct3d, and usually likes to have a bit more than 4MB or video ram to play with.

Gotta meet those min sys reqs, hey?
