so i entered an INF game, and it put me on blue, so i went away at it.
and i soon realized everyone on my team was a n00b. so i suffered through a few rounds, and was pretty much ready to scream "YOU [:-censored]ING N00BS! GET THE [:-censored] OFF MY TEAM, DAMMIT!!! YOU'RE ALL [:-censored]ING RETARDED"
i resisted this temptation, but i was getting pretty pissed off.
but then i got an idea: why not round up the parts of this headless chicken, shape them up, and make them an excellent flag guarding team?
i just gave one command. "stay with the flag!"
they were like "tok" and "GUARDING"
amazingly, they followed my orders. we then went from like 11-90 losses to 90-60, 90-30, and even 90-0 wins! i was amazed, not to mention proud, of this little team i had organized. we continued to 'pwn' red team. they got sloppy every now and then, and we had a couple disappointing defeats, but we generally did well.
there were funny moments. they are n00bs after all. one guy was like "I KEEP KILLING YOU HAHA!"-which produced some 'lol's from red team and myself. and they actually made some amazing saves. they weren't bad shots, either, as it went on.
so, n00bs aren't all that worthless after all! : /

well you learn something everyday dont ya ;)
but really you cant go wrong with just staying on the flag, a hardcore defence.

No offense, but if you think about it you're actually doing them more harm than good by training them to be barret-whoring flag-campers. I don't know about the rest of you, but when I was a noob (actually I still am really) I played mostly with MP5 and SPAS. Those poor suckers are probably going to go on some other server and be all like "WOW we were TeH PwNzOrs last time so just stay by the flag" and everyone will hate them and eventually kick them from the server for camping.
Just my .02$, I know you were just trying to make use of some crappy teammates. Nice job shaping em up though.

But with proper training they would make an excellent defence team. You know, barrett is not the only way to defend something.

yeah, there were a lot of barrets, but a few imitated my Ruger selection (i tend to prefer Ruger in normal mode, and spas in realistic, tho if i see a barret, minimi, or steyr i pick it up), or had the steyr. it's not like we /all/ clumped around the flag. we spread out around the general area, with the first line of defense spreading forward as they slowly gained ground on the red team. that was in 'Abel', anyway. we were more successful with that tactic in 'Outpost', tho in 'fortress', it was more successful when we stayed close in the area of the flag. that was where we had some amazing saves. and in 'warehouse', 1 or 2 people would stay with me directly with the flag, 1 or 2 would go bottomside, and the rest would go up top. oh, i always stayed right with the flag.
i never really thought about the red team's perspective, but then, i remembering it being a lot easier being on the red team.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but you're supposed to stick by the flag in inf. matches if you're blue. Good practice for blue..bad for red. lol...seeing someone get kicked for camping in an inf match would be a moment in itself.

Yeah but I meant if they go in a CTF server. Obviously you won't get kicked for camping on blue team in an INF server.

i think because n00bs are so great in numbers, that they could be expendable, since there not any good alone.

sometimes i only had like 4 on my team, plus myself, against the same number of alphas, if not more alphas. i think it's not so much numbers as concentration. ;)

More power to Kerath for whipping these guys into shape...too bad the matter of a ctf match was never even mentioned. Even in ctf, camping has its place...but in ctf, you don't need a whole team of campers, as might have been the case here ( I dunno...I wasn't in that particular game [:D]). Campers, personally, I have no problem with...fun to hunt down and kill...it's just the people who run around with barrets and claim to pwn everything on Gods green earth that piss me off. N00bs be n00bs, true...but teaching a team to work together and defend is a good thing, regardless.

exactly. being blue team in INF is like accepting the responsibility to camp. wtf else are you supposed to do?
however, if it had been CTF, i wouldn't have asked them all to camp at the flag, just one or two. hell, i would have stayed with the flag while they went after the enemy's. perhaps that would become too complicated for them....?
anyhoo, i'm back without net access on /my/ comp, so i'm limited to playing with bots : /

Many newbies I play against/with on CTF are the type that don't talk (or talk incomprehensibly), shoot their own teammates, and aren't in any way ready to accept anyone's leadership. True, leadership can make a newbie into a standard player, but many just do not care.

I've always found noobs most annoying when they call you a noob... It's extremely fun to keep creaming them afterwards, though. Inf matches I find fun to play in when I see a whole bunch of noobs getting creamed who are trying to guard the flag by standing there and trying to impatiently find a better place to camp while I just run through. That's when I'm in a bad mood, but it's otherwise a little boring.
