no need to zip them you know. you can just copy+save in paint :D

They come with an 'edges' texture as well. It's as easy as unzipping the zip file into your textures directory.

I go out to my backyard, street or where ever there is some dirt and/or vegetation, take a snap with my digital camera, open it with photoshop, apply ten million filters and color changes and save it in a convenient 128x128 sized bitmap.

Yeah, I did.. but that doesnt show me any textures just a black screen pops up with prompt command.

It's a WinZip self extracting archive. :S

I get the same. A black window appears saying "this programm can not run in dos mode" when I double click the exe
and I get and corrupt archive error when i want to extract it with right click.

Well this is sad, something so simple no one can do for me and others who cant open the .exe when I go out of my way to help people when asked.
