Error initializing 3D hardware

It's a hardware compatibility error:
Make sure you have the latest DirectX drivers
Try running the game in window-mode
Change the Windows desktop colors from 32-bit to 16-bit
Try changing some Soldat Config settings (turn off Antialiasing, check 16-bit)
Install the latest or different video drivers
Try changing the windows desktop resolution and bit-rate
Try turning down or up the graphics hardware acceleration (My Computer/Properties/Performance/Graphics)
Try updating your motherboard drivers
If you have Windows NT/2000 install the latest service pack

Nothing worked.

I have Windows XP and Voodoo3.

I get this kind of error if my windows deskop colors aren't 16-bit
make sure that the windows deskop is set on 16-bit and the 16-bit option is marked in the Soldat setup
both of them must be 16-bit

I didn't think there where any DirectX 8+ drivers made of any of the voodoo cards.

Bad combination, XP does not support 3dfx cards. You must use w98SE to use the card properly. Search voodoo in this forum to more information
