i was looking at the all suggestions sticky and i didnt see any straight suggestions of a new weapon but i saw the carry weight thingy
and it snapped in my head... M60! you can only use it when youre near sandbags, cuz you have to support the big gun with something, and it would have 200 bullets, very very very fast firerate, a bloody long reload time and it would severely decrease the speed of the soldier carrying it... so, what do you think? i meant this idea for a good ctf defense weapon. i propably get some negative posts from this and reminders of stationary guns, but those are just too slobby for defense [8)] oh btw, i was also thinking something like power punch (dont mind the lame name) basically, when you have your fists and your ready to break some chins, you could press the reload button to "boost" your punch, to a maximum of 5 boosts. when you have boosted 1 time the damage you make will rise with 5%. Ponder that one for a sec

No, no, no and no.

The real life M60 was a light machinegun intended to be used "on the run".
You could try having a 200-round belt for it, but that would be a bitch. 50 rounds is more likely, since that's the standard length of one ammo-belt for the M60.
The real life M60 had a cyclic rate of 550/600 rounds.
And, as a light machinegun, quick reload would be necessary for it to support its purpose.

Powerboost for fists? ... not a bad idea, but no.

Sheesh, keep it realistic.
It would complicate Soldat waaaaaay too much, and the suggestion sounds like it hasn't had enough thought put in it, can you actually imagine playing with it?

I don't like it
This doesn't fit Soldat

It's not possible to make a weapon that only can be used near sandbags, because there can be modded sandbags and stuff as scenery object, so.... no. I don't like it either.

1st suggestion: We have the minigun. If you use it how it's intended to, you can do that.

2nd suggestion: I'd rather /kill when I'm unarmed.

Rather apparent that you're not:

M60 specifics:

M60 M60E3
caliber 7,62 mm NATO 7,62mm NATO
weigth 10.5 kg on bipod 8,61kg on bipod
length 1105 mm 1067 mm
barrel length 560 mm 560 mm
feeding belt 100 rounds belt 100 rounds
rate of fire 550 rounds/min 550 rounds/min

Seems that I was wrong on one point, but still...
10 kilos is light from an army point of view. Compare that to an M2: 38 kilos, weapon alone. Or to a an early Maxim machinegun - 40kg's complete with your obiquitos can of cooling-water.
On the opposite note: the german Mg42 was considered a light machinegun - that thing weighed 11 kilos... if not fifteen. Don't have the time to check that up right now....

If I get late for practice because of whooping your ass, your ass is eternally mine, band. [:D]
