When I try to start the game I get the error:
"Error initializing 3D hardware. You're hardware does not support DirectX 8. Be sure to install the latest drivers. Now software will be used..."
I click ok.
Another error pops up.
"Could not initialize DirectX graphics. You must have installed DirectX 8 or better. Try turning off extra options like Antialiasing."
Click ok and it closes.
I'm running Windows 98. I had DirectX 9, uninstalled it, installed DX 8.1, rebooted.
Same message. Reinstalled Soldat, same message.
Tried changing Soldat setup, same message.
Please help me.

What is your graphic card and your computer? Do you have latest drivers? Have you tried with other drivers? Have you turned off all graphic improvements in soldat? Have tried 16 bits of color in desktop properties?

did you try to reinstall Soldat into other directory?

try to install another windows (?)
