After pondering this idea for a while, I figured that it would fit perfectly into the Soldat world.
The claymore would be a single one-time-use weapon that, when set, will activate after three seconds (or however many seconds would balance such a device). The claymore has a sensor that detects movement on one side of the device, so whatever direction the player is facing when he sets the claymore, the claymore will be facing that direction also. When an enemy comes into the sensor's range (I assume the sensor radius would be small, in order to keep the device balanced). When the weapon explodes, it does so likea cluster grenade--exploding, and sending clusters toward the direction that it was facing.
This annoying little device would be a great strategic tool in the Soldat arsenal. It could be placed in brush or other hard to see areas. The best use for this device would be to hide it among health or grenade crates, to surprise anyone who had would-be plans to save themselves.
The only downside about this device is that it may become over-used. I have no answer for this problem, but perhaps some of you do.
