2: What if there was more than 1 lobby server site instead of lobby.soldat.pl or whatever its called.

Maybe other sites could host the lobby, so if one goes down, you can

change the lobby_servers.txt in your soldat folder to that address,

so it could back up the servers more than once, so there can never be

another lobby problem again!

Make lobby_servers.txt like a nameserver lookup...have lobby.soldat.pl resolve to a "lobby servers list". The Lobby Servers List would just be a text file (or something like it..) that is downloaded, and inside the file would be text similar to this that shows all the lobby servers:

#1] 32.23.43.23
#2] 29.213.23.12
#3] 43.23.13.45

So now when you request servers, it will download that list and try to get all the servers from #1 first (32.23.43.23). If that fails, rather than giving a "Lobby Server Not Responding" error, it would just lookup the next server in the list (29.213.23.12).

...not that the lobby server is too much of a problem now anyways, I only see it down about once every other month.

yeah n00b, thats how i originally thought it was back in the days before he got the dynamic address for it.

i donno with the lobby down quite a bit recently, any idea might help...

it is more or less a more uniform version of kazuki's thread for when the lobby is down. If people can start adding their servers now, it will be more useful for when the server is down
