hi,
i cant open soldat
i have windows 98
DirectX 8.1
when i first run the game the error was:
"d3d***.dll Missing"
i installed DirectX 8.1
and take of the v from Fullscreen from the config file
and now when i run the game he opened and close right away
what shell i do?
please help

Try a few other options in config.exe (disable anti-aliasing) or install DirectX 9.0b
What graphic card do you have?

Geforce 2 64mb 200mx
but now i can open the game but can see my player..
i can move but i cant see players
what shell i do

Problem number one, my friend. Windows 98. go spend 200 bucks and get xp if you like windows, or go to your local bookstore (Barnes and Noble has the best selection I've seen) and grab a "how to" linux guide most of them cost about 50 bucks, but come with the Operating system....

Noobile, really great help.
He does NOT have to get another OS just to play Soldat.
Like I said, try DirectX 9.0b. Maybe enable fullscreen again and update the drivers for your graphic card.

hey, I tried running soldat on a win98 machine, and had nothing but problems. I wasn't trying to be a prick, I'm saying win98 is an unstable OS and if not for the game, than for his pc's sake, to upgrade.
SO I guess for more useful advice.....
Try shutting down any un-used/unnecessary programs while playing soldat, like MSN, Kazaa, whatever. if it's not OS, or SOldat, shut it off, make sure your screen res is at least 800x600 24bit color, that should help ( along with the DX 9.0b, and the drivers)
