I added a router to my network, and now I have a very strange lag problem.

I will be playing, and suddenly disconnect. Before this happens, I can't talk, and even though everything looks fine, my soldier is not moving server-side. I can tell this is happening because I will be all the way at one side of a map and suddenly someone will kill me at the other side ( my view will warp to my soldier's dead body). Also, my character starts doing the inactive animations while I walk around ( take off helmet, smoke, etc..). I can't hurt anyone or pick up crates or weapons while this is happening.

This doesn't happen constantly, just about once every 5-10 minutes.


My setup:

OS: Windows XP SP2

My computer connects through a Belkin router to a DSL modem.

I used to have this problem too. Sometimes it happened a lot, sometimes i could go days without having it. What i think is that somehow, the server is having problems receiving the upload.

Try to re-install, that's what I did, It got me safe of it for quite a while now.

If your router's firmware is outdated, update it...

I had issues with certain online games before, similar to this. I updated my router's firmware and it solved the problem from what I could tell.
