Offering a step-by-step through aim on how to make a map.

If anyone needs any tips on ANYTHING on how to make a map... I can walk you through a map.

I just require you have a valid version of AOL instant messanger so i can direct connect and chat.

Diablo: this is currently the best mapmaker that you can find

Or you can use the official mapmaker which is somewhere in the downloads section of soldat.pl, but it isn't as good.

Make sure that you stick it in your soldat directory, otherwise you'll have a bunch of warning messages telling you that it can't load textures and scenery.

How do you draw lines and make polygons? I try to make a map and I just end up messing with backgrounds and scenery.

Maxx, if you're using the official mapmaker, then you'll have to push control + left mouse button and then click again where you want each vertice.

If you want to know what all of the controls are, just click on the help button in the upper right hand corner.

Hercule: people still need help with this stuff, and some threads are worth reviving.

When I am done with a map, and go to save it (with no tabs behind it) it doesn't save it. One map I made did but the rest didn't work. I was making some lil 2min. maps to test it, and I didn't do anything different to the one that worked.

AIM : I need more scenery.
Program : Soldat map maker 1.1
Example : You only have 2 jungle trees. And you have ony 3 trees for winter maps.... But any new scenery would be great.
