Hey eveyone,

I get this retarded bug when I make a map and send it to someone, they can't join my server. He deleted the map and tried to download it from Soldat, it still dosn't work! I sent him the texture I made and everything. I checked my server options and stuff. So then I re-gave him the map and he made a server, still didn't work. He said he could see the map, but then I couldn't join. This is really pissing me off! Someone help me, PLZ! ='(

Sounds like a firewall issue to me. Perhaps you have a software firewall, such as Black ICE or ZoneAlarm, that's blocking Soldat from transmitting/recieving data.

If either of you use a DSL modem/router, than you probably have a hardware firewall, which is a lot harder to configure and involves a great deal of computer knowhow.

Here are some links to help you out:

http://www.ox.compsoc.org.uk/~steve/portforwarding.html - Article on hardware firewalls. (Linux)
http://www.homenethelp.com/web/explain/port-forwarding-dmz.asp - Article on Port Forwarding and hardware firewalls (Windows)
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/wxpmdfrw.html - Online document detailing the Microsoft firewall.

If you and your friend were able to download maps before, then you should definitely look at the possibility of something blocking your ports. Perhaps one of you has a broadband connection and uses Network Address Translation? If that's the case, then port forwarding is definately the issue.
