huh? no... you don't have to... why should you have to be registered to join a clan? You can join any clan without registration (as long as they don't want you to have a registered version, but that depens on the clan :)
But I think if you like the game as much as wanting to join a clan you really should register it :)) Only what I'm thinking ;)

If you arent a cheap freeloader, you can pay the $10 to register..

I didnt saw any clan to what wants you to have registered.

Registering gets you colored jets, the ability to play MP3's in Soldat, the use of multiple profiles, and a star beside your name. Those are the real benefits of registering.

Think of it as giving back to the creator of Soldat. It's not a fee to play the game, it's just an option to say "Thank you for your time.", and you get a little more in return.
