I think some kind of slide would be useful. The knee possibility seems to me the most pracitcal. IT would be kind of like the roll function, but instead of rolling after you come flying in, you could land on your knees and slide for a certain length, while still retaining the ability to shoot. Also, being on your knees, you would be able to get up easier than had you gone prone before you landed from the sky.

Hmm..not sure if this has been suggested, but I like the sound of it. Could be a useful in certain situations, moreso than a roll. Good thinkin' :)

Well...soldat movement should expand towards mid-air, air..there's only a slight difference between slide and roll when things are 2dimensional.

It would be even better, if the soldat guy would lads after the jump on its stomach, slides and then rises. It would give "the specialist" (half life mod) feeling.

prone on the floor and use your thrusters... thier you go... you can't slide on hard dirt you know..

...Or you could make a ice map and slide, there ya go.

You would liek... roll? Try running in one direction and press crouch. rolling is already in the game! :)

Well, I'd love to see the "skiing" from Tribes in Soldat.. just use your speed you get from falling by sliding down the slopes.. it's pure fun.

Oh, I didn't know that..

Well, I know about the going prone and using your thrusters, that's kind of why I specifically mentioned being able to get up faster had you been on your knees instead of stomach. Also, I kind of thought you'd be able to slide a little easier, farther, or faster if you were on your knees.
