When I want to use my new map I've just made on a server, the people who want to come in download everything, get in the game, stay for two seconds and then it is written on their screen WRONG MAP VERSION DETECTED so nobody can come in the game.
What do I have to do to make it available to others?
Do you I use the map maker source code and how do I use it?
Do I have to change the version of the map editor and how?

I sorta have the same problem,
I made a map, started server... person entered downloaded map then left ad hosted a better server, I went and joined their server on arena and we changed to my map and it kicked me and said wrong map version detectedaswell as a seperate box says something like socket canceled. Yet we played my map on my server only minutes before.
I tried to rejoin to his server, it says "Requesting game" then says "Connection Accepted" then continues to stay in lobby. I now cannot join his server no matter what map it is on. Everytime I click join game my soldat freezes completely.
Anyone know whats wrong?

It really sucks but I tried maps of other people and it worked really well, and it never had the problem. It happened just on the maps I created.

I have the same problem as well. For most of the maps - I'd say around 70% - I can download them just fine and play. For some of them, either I download the map, enter the game, and get a big WRONG MAP VERSION DETECTED followed by a boot, or when I click to download & join the server the game freezes and I have to ALT + CTRL + delete and shut down manually, which is really annoying since I like to download unofficial maps to try them out, and constantly get a freeze.

It seems to be like a bug. Ive uploaded a new map to my server some days ago, and most ppl could join - xcept for me. I was thrown off after some seconds with WMV. I tried deleting the map, so that it would be completely redowbloaded from the server etc. Didnt work.
I guess the only thing that WILL work, is editing the map a bit (put in some more polys etc.) and recompiling it.

yupp, same thing here, made this map, Hellpit, some people who join can play it just fine, but most, 80%, get kicked after 2 sec, and they get a WRONG MAP VERSION error.... damn that piss
what does it mean?

I get this problem as well with just over half the players not getting in due to WMV. recently I've made two maps, both infected by this thing. it seems that the small majority that can get past WMV to play one map, can also download and play the other WMV affected map as well. But if they leave the server/restart soldat sometimes they cannot get in again because of WMV. At any rate, I do find this to be a common soldat mapping bug and is really affecting my wanting to create maps anymore.

Hah, welcome the newbie. Wouldn't you rather I had started a new thread asking about this than revived a long dead one?
I'm having the same problem with my current map. Besides the ridiculous poly glitches (I'm lazy and making rectangular beams with two polys, but it works for the most part) some 80-90% of people that join are booted for wrong map version, and I watch the server log and they just downloaded the map! I think this is one to consult with Michael about. Same map also has odd problems when one joins that the screen flashes black and its like you can hear everything on the map at once and the simultaneous spawning of 300 players, restart soldat and its gone, very strange. 'Course it could be because its a downright huge map with buttloads of polys and pokey corners galore, even some dreaded bouncy polygons that aren't much of a problem since they're hard to hit. Was funny that I thought I had made a bad glitch in one part because if you stepped on that poly you would die, then I took a look at the poly type in the editor *foreheadslap* Don't split polys without checking the poly type you'll be making...
I've also developed a zombie bot and settings to go with this map, but waypointing is going to be a pain so I just spawn them all over for now.
Server: Resident Evil Style
24 zombies, limited guns, long way to run and climb.
I <3 Cable, okay I'll go to bed now, server is up if you wan't to see it. Map is definitely a few more compiles away from finished. Just started working on scenery and I have some smaller buildings and hills to do inbetween the main ones.

welcome to the forums. it's be better to just make another post about it, as reviving oooold topics is kinda lame. the search function is also your best friend.
your sig doesnt work for sevral reasons.

Well this topic isnt too old, old would be a topic from soldat 1.0 or something. Still having this problem even after cleaning up some stray polys and recompiling my map, my thinking is it might be related to a poly too small to be contacted getting screwed up in the compilation causing it to have a correct checksum saved with the server side but an incorrect checksum once the file has been transmitted and the checksum recalculated.

MM needs to look into this. One of my maps was just a victim of this bug. It's so random, and so annoying.
