Does anyone around write poems simply for pleasure or expression?

I've discovered what a relieving thing it can be when one puts his troubles into rhymed literature. I usually keep them for myself, though. Anyone else does/has done the same? Just wondering.

I was thinking about it, but I don't think I was very good at it. I have no idea.
I do remember Kazuki doing something like that on Deviant Art, however.
Clicky.

No. No offense, but it sounds a bit "too emo" to me. These days it's a fad to either be an emo, or hate emos.

Thus if you can't find the golden middle road, people will hate your poetry "cause it's fad poetry".
I tried but it was too...eh, undescribable x_X

I like writing poems and i do write them for expression it kinda lets my feelings out, so there not so bottled up inside, and Kazuki is really damn good at it.

I used to right poems, then I realized that if I kept writing poems I would never pull out of my depression... so I vowed to never write another poem ever again.

I write poetry every now and then, and have been doing so for several years. Here's my site

The Eternal Pit

I haven't updated very much recently, but there's quite a bit there. Just click on "The Scrolls". Feedback's always nice too.

I used to write poems, yes. I still do sometimes, but it's not real emo. My past poems, which are on DeviantArt, are pretty emotional, but I didn't cry or show all that much emotion while writing them. I was more focused on finding words that rhyme. That's why I'm into poetry and writing it, because it amuses me to find the right words. But it shows deep emotion at times, and I love it when poems make you think real hard.

I wrote lyircs a few times in middle school...oh god do I regret it. I found some old notebook or other last weekend, with a few lyrics written in it. Absolutely horrible. This happens to me with all writing: if I ever return to it, I can't help but think "what was I thinking?!" It just seems that if I ever try to express real thoughts through writing, the words distort things and make it seem like I'm saying something I never wanted to say. Probably "I suck at writing."
Although I can understand how satisfying it would be to write a really good poem, I must say I never really enjoyed reading poetry either. Or even understanding it. Too many metaphors and light-dark imagery. I can't take it!

Evil
From the depths I spy
As I draw near a cold wind blows by

I am your fears taking form
I cannot be stopped for I wake with the moon and ride with the storm

Now is the time for hell on earth
From the ground my demons spring forth

My army of darkness and my evil reign
To this world I bring torment and pain

Every man and woman will fear my name
What cannot be seen will never be tame

Fooled
Why must I sit back and stare
Watching you laugh and fiddle with your hair

He has stolen you from me
Can't you reazile you and me were meant to be

You and him walking hand-in-hand
I must do what I have planned

I laugh as I see his blood..
I told them I would

In hell, is where we shall stay
Now no one can take you away

To escape my own hell I was not as clever
No love, only torment and pain in hell forever

Sand
How can you be so near yet so far
Loving you is like catching a falling star

By you forever I stand
As you slip past me like grains of sand

As time goes on
I still can't call you my own

I cannot bear to leave your side
Yet my love I still hide

O God why must I have this curse
As my love grows, my fears get worse

To be near you is both pleasure and pain
And to loose you is both a great loss and great gain

He who can call today his own,
He who, secure within, can say,

Poems can be very good. However, generally people take the easy route out and write continually depressed literature. Yes, black poetry can be good, but most of the time it's just [IMAGE] written by teens who want to be different, alternative and deep (while still, of course, being cool) but just end up being stereotypical, annoying, and sickening. Case in point:

Painted Eyes

the smell of Cold.
a doll sprawled on the fresh grass,
broken arms open to the Falling heavens.
mouth open wide Screaming.
Painted Eyes, a pretty shade of blue,
blankly stare at grey.
no sun for this forgotten memory, this echo of love,
this Outcast amongst the green.
peeling cheeks reveal the Heartless Plastic beneath.

Me, Grade 9. Aren't we happy now...and then the crowning irony is that though it's a depressing poem about [i think] outcasts amongst society being rejected, I'm not an outcast, depressed or remotly rejected.

I get A+ on my poetry all the time, and it is supposed to be good. I don't thinks so. Anyway, haiku can be emo, but mostly fun. Limericks on the other hand, are never really emo.
