Now before I get started on this I tried searching and it gave me a 500 error (internal server error).

Now for my idea. Just a few minutes ago I was playing a public game which was pretty decent ctf and had about 6 players...then the dial - ups came. the ping jumped from an average of 100 to 400-500. After vote kicking SEVERAL I thought we NEED a function that allows ONLY people with cable/dsl or better internet into a game.

This would remedy most of the vote kicks seeing as how no high ping terds get in. Last thing, and this applies to ALL of you who use dial up.

Please stop playing in games when you know that your ping is above 300! Not only will the game be horrible for you but you'll screw everyone else up too. So please, either upgrade or stay in local games.

you can set the max ping as i know, if people's ping is above this value, he'll be ping kicked

Yes but that is not the point. The point is to detect the user ping and disallow them from EVER entering.

This is like on a few games I play, and you are rejected if you had a ping higher than the maximum set BEFORE you got in. Stops alot of lag, but lowers the amount of online players.

Anyway, this will mean a lot of people won't be able to play. Not everyone has high speed internet, and i know for sure if i had dial-up i wouldnt like to be excluded because of this.

Well tough. I have had to suffer because of dial up users like you for a long time. No I'm not the greatest player, but I would like to be able to play a game where dial up users cannot...interfere. Dungeon Siege has this option when making a server and does it ever speed things up. And the way I like to look at it is I am not excluding anyone I am rewarding high speed users by giving them a virtual lag free sanctuary.

If you want a server where people with more than 100 ping get kicked in less than 2 minutes, go to Optik's server. But very few poeple play in those servers because not everyone is so rich to be able to have a dsl connection.

I never said i had dial-up any way. It's just that theres so many people who don't have DSL. These servers may be excluding more people than you think.
