Im looking to make a tournament to find out who's the best with the m79. Many think they are, many think they can, but not many do. With this tournament I want to find who the best m79er in the planet is. So if any good players don't show, there idiots. Saying, I allready know im the best is just sad, saying I dont feel I have anything to prove is also weak.

Rules
Match time: Unlimited
Match kills: 30
Map: Arena3
Grenades: No
Secondaries: No
Gun: m79 (duh)
Survival mode: On

Picking up a second m79, after you kill your opponent is not allowed. Specs are allowed if both parties agree. The final, semi finals and quarters all are specced though. It will be a knockout tournament. It would also be nice if everyone could take demos of their matches so we can remember this tournament. Crazy Horse is gonna host something so you can watch what matches you want.

All Idle in #m79tourney in quakenet server. Once enough have applied ill sort out the seeding here. You can also ask questions and who your playing etc in the irc chan.

Servers
Ive arranged two servers from Germany. This way the matches wont be clustered etc. Also are both 100mbit so lag shouldnt be too much of a problem :). If two Americans are playing each other or something then they can arrange there own server, as long as they provide the right settings.

Finish 5th of february. If I dont meet the 100 mark and im close, I might extend it a bit. Cmon people, tell your friends about the tournament.

Small change, im not sure if it will reach 100 before 5th of feb. So the amount of players has been reduced to 64. There arent so many places left, so get your application in now. The system of numbers will be changed now, so it doesnt matter so much. I think I'll just put everyones name in a hat now. Or a cup, not much difference :). Maybe I could do the seeding LIVE ! :P. Have you given any thought to what server and where this tourny will be held? I'm guessing you're shooting for a place with optimal ping for all who enter and not for one particular continent/country, seeing as how this is an m79 tourny. When is any of this going down? Toss out some (tentative) dates or times for people who have schedules.

The point is that while we wait for Jaz, half of the people that signed up are probably dead already. Not Jaz's fault really, though.. he could've known better. And the last time he had pc problems, he was away for a year or so :P

Wouldnt Bigfalls be a better map?? I know it might be a bit big for a duel but it has more variety then arena3.

I cannot wait for Jaz any longer. Therefore I decide to start this tourney. I'll do my best to make sure this cup runs smoothly. So on FRIDAY 11th, ~18:00 GMT the first matches will start.

I'm still a bit annoyed at this "let the Americans find their own server" plan...if someone is organizing this tourny they need to take care of that sort of thing long ahead of time. Just doing it for certain members of the tournament isn't fair at all.

Well it's a free tourney, so we can't really rent servers in every continent.

Yes, but it's your free tourney...what makes you think we can rent these servers out? What I'm saying is the person/people running this thing need to take care of it with some degree of responsibility to ensure as much of an even playing field as possible. Not trying to be an ass about it, but this tourney needs to arranged instead of left to chance.

That's why I'm asking if anyone can host a good server for the North American side of things, and someone for the South Americans if need be. Something on the level with the servers set up in Germany.
