I'll bet there were poets about this too. But I have so many ideas that i feel need posting.

1. The 120-mm Mortar turret. This beast is only capable of aiming at no lower than 75° or 105°, but the mortars it shoots are as powerful as two m79 bullets. This turret should take about 2.5 seconds between shots. It overheats for an extra 4 seconds after 5 shots to prevent spammerz.

2. The 40-mm Grenade turret. This is like the mortar turret except it can aim anywhere, and shoot grenade-projectiles further. In short, this is a super-m79. :P The grenades it shoots however, are slightly weaker than normal nades. But the 1.5 second wait between shots makes up for it.

3. The 76-mm Rapid Fire Turret. This turret fires twice as ast as the original turret, but overheats faster if you're not careful. Overheating causes the bulles to spray much more.

4. The Guided Missile Launcher. This will present soldateers with the ability to send a controlled missile after other players. The missile gradually picks up speed. These turrets take 6 seconds to reload.

5.Flame turret-a turret with a flamethrower, but it should has longer a distance than flamethrower.

6.Auto defense turret- why don't we have a turret that has its own AI? It can has the same AI as a bot that is standing. This kind of turret can be use in CTP or INF maps. This idea is ok, but may get sorta weird in a game of soldat.

7. Pyro-bomb turret - Launches projectiles similar to flaming arrows, but with a more random aim. This makes it harder to hit the enemy, but it is powerful when it does hit. Should take relatively long to reload

8. Bouncing Betty Turret - Lobs a little explosive over onto the ground. When stepped on, this little device shoots SPAS bullet type projectiles upwards, causing a little paradise of mayhem. This turret only launches one Betty, and can only fire again after the original Betty goes boom.

9. Boom Pow Turret - Launches a M79grenade type-projectile, but it doesn't blow up. Instead, it bounces for 5 seconds while beeping, then blows up in midair, throwing shrapnel (like spas bullets) all around. This beast should have massive reload times.


I will post more if i or you guys can think of any. I think soldat could do with one more turret type :D

EDIT: Yay for useless topics! I'll keep posting as many stat guns ideas as i can, anyways. We could all use a specific topic in terms of sastguns, even though millions of others have been made.

3. lower the power to like ak shooting like a minigun...
4. Guided? mabye just a reqular missile launcher...don't think mm wants to implant a tracking thingy...
5. heh thats a good one... i mean kinda usless since people will just shoot you from afar... unless its it a certan position...

i like the homing one but the chances of it being in the next version of soldat are very low

........ What is going on in your(and in a lot of other's) brain to think that homing missile turret would be cool and fit in Soldat?..... At least u know that it won't be implented.

two more ideas:

flame turret-a turret with a flamethrower, but it should has longer a distance than flamethrower.

Good point peemonkey, I was a bit lazy when i made this. From this day forth, no more spamz from me!

But i do like the idea of a separate topic for all of the stationary turret ideas.

yeah, i think only 1 or 2 stat guns is needed, and i have yet to see a map big enough to carry that many stat guns lol

I don't think any of these will show up in soldat, a lot of people don't like playing with stat guns as they are now. I have had stat guns disabled in my server for most of the past 2 years

I just wanna tell Captain Ben that guided missiles are NOT the same thing as homing missiles. You can control the path of a guided one, and a homing one just follows a hot spot.

I m' only agree with the Mortar turret ...

the other turret are not usefull ... no ... the other turret don't have ther place on a game in this genre

Good point, they are a bit cheap. But i think the mortar turret is the best idea for a new turret mostly because it would add a new element to the gameplay, and help give Soldat a more war-like feel. People could make some interesting maps with them.

You know, as I was reading this, I was thinking of how badly most of these would fit into Soldat. Then I realized that many would never be used anyways, and if used responsibly these guns have some amazing map making potential. In my opinion, it's all about freedom and options in life, and these guns would give tons more freedom in map making. Obviously you couldn't just start plunking down flamethrower guns in B2B or something, but imagine a map where one route has an AI stat gun and one route is where everyone respawns. The defenders might be tempted to put all their emphasis on the respawn tunnel, but with enough force, the offence could push past the stat gun and get the flag, or whatever. How about a map where a ways outside each team's base is a mortar launcher, so that a skilled mortar firer could lob shots over the wall while the other guys rush the base. Imagine a map where the shortar range flamethrower guns give way to longer range stat guns, so that you could gun-hop, slowly moving up in caliber untill you reach the top of a strategic hill or whatever, and get to an array of big guns which you team mans and fires on the enemy while they try to make it to an alternate route under the hill. I'm sure you map making guys could just go to town with this stuff, and why not? If a map sucks or is unplayable, people obvously won't play it, and it'll die. If a map's really good, it may go into the next version of Soldat, and we'll have lots of new options and tactics to choose from. As Flies pointed out, many servers already have stat guns disabled, so it wouldn't be much of a change to alot of us, and hey, if your in the mood for stat gun action it's there.

o well. i still think there should only be the one turret.

i be thinking, that the 7.62mm turret would be a nice addition, doing about 6 dmg and firing like the mp5, explosive turrets, no thanks, im not noob, i dont hope to be resorting to some lamer turret, bouncing betty bombs should be like grenades, not a turret, sounds to deadly to have them planted everywhere, and on top of all these turrets, what about michal? surely he'd have to edit the Soldat Map Maker to make way for all of these new turrets, if you ask me, weapons should be in catergories ande also, you shouldn't respawn until you pick your gun, afk killing is so sad. and also, those other 284729 turrets would be good if you were using them, not if they were being used against you, think about it, i like my Browning M2, but i hate it being used against me

blablabla.. the turret that exists is just like minigun but no spread at all and l33t damage PLUS pushing capabilty. meaning, its total ownage. so why the F. not add these l33t turrets? and make them "random appear" like if u can destroy it.. it disappears, and then appears a new one replacing the old one but of different type. since all these turrets kills instantly.. u cant even see the difference =\ or iono, dont blame me. im just trying to support this stupid idea

I haven't been keeping tabs on this topic so I don't know if this has been suggested previously, but why not just have one alternate stat gun that you can access by pressing your switch weapons key?

It looks and sounds cool, but most people hate states anyway, and they are disable on most server.

I wish people wouldn't do that. I love killing people on stats, gives some good challenge.
