Sometimes in my maps some of the polygons cause you to bounce as you walk over them, what causes this problem and how can I fix it? Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

you have to:

1. start the mapmaker.
2. open the map with the jumpys.
3. press the "wireframe"
4. zoom the map closer.
5. remove any glitches(make sure that the polys connect correctly)
6. compile the map 2 times.
7. drink some soda.
8. save the map.
9. say my name.
10. start soldat.
11. start the map and enjoy.

great tutorial!
no need for a new one below:p

you can see a formal surface work in default maps. imitate it if your map had messy lines in wireframe view. the followings make the bouncing ground.

-congruently overlapped polygons
-too small or too thin polygon
-horizontal line
-connected vertex

and many compiles could be a problem rather than a solution, in my experience.

I agree, in fact, I don't compile my map until it has been completely finished just to be safe.

I have noticed that the first few polygons placed are usually jumpy after compile, so I start with a part that will not be walked on. I don't know if this actually happens, I might just be paranoid ¬_¬
