How about an option to disable chatting in servers?
This means that 't' does nothing.

If you want it all to be quiet, then just mute everyone.

If you don't want 't' to do anything, just re-assign the chat button to something else.

u could mute ppl u no
plus this idea is a crappy/unnecessary idea - there is a checkbox u can just uncheck in the option menu to disable chat, u no

No, "u no", there isn't. You can disable bot, but not normal talk.

I dislike it too, communication is essential in clan wars, and public servers rely on talking for whining and stuff.

You don't expect people to whine in clan-wars...
Team chat would still be possible, chatting with opposite team members wouldn't...

I think it's a cute option. If you want to chat with people, use mIRC. If you come to play, then play the game and chat less.

Simple checkbox - serverside and player option.

And how exactly would one select a map or verify server settings?

OMG DUDEZ!!! YOU RIGHT!! IM SO DUMB!!

kidding......I know i can change buttons. But guess what? The 'r' is perfectly functionnal for me and i don't want to [IMAGE] my game play because i have to learn to play with reload elsewhere. No time to waste.

And if u read carefully wut i wrote, i said that finally, it wasnt a good idea.

The idea is simple, I'm sorry if some fail to understand, but I refuse to dumb down the explanation further than this:
(Read slowly)

We have bullettime
Bulletime can be turned off if you don't want bullettime in your server
Why not make chatting similar
Can be turned off if you don't want on server you open

Now not server:
If you not want to read chat
Make option to turn off chat with players
Others write whatever
But you can't see because you turned off

Team communication:
Not affected by option
Is impossible to write to opposite team though
You write whatever and only team can read

Please stop asking stupid questions, even a frog would have understood this by now...

STOP MAKING EVERYTHING AN OPTION, HEY I KNOW LETS MAKE SHOOTING AN OPTION TOO!

Chatting is part of every multiplayer game, live with it or ignore the top part of your screen!

...Why would you want this idea to be implemented?

Or maybe even this question: Why should Michal implement this because you're too lazy to /mute everyone?

Shooting is an option, not being funny, but you don't have to shoot (melee weapons). Plus it is an option, turn all weapons off.

Anyway, you mean only disable non-team chat? What if that bug happens, and you have the player turning up on the other team? What if you want some communication with admin? It isn't to great an idea.
