When I open soldat (unregistered) I get the regular "register" "ok" screen.. and when I press on ok, my whole comp freezes, and nothing works (not even ctrl+alt+del) except my mouse icon that can just move around. I am currently using windows second edition on a pentium 2, 400, with an old voodoo 3 3300 agp graphic card, but as far as I can see, thats not the problem, since it can't even open to the lobby...

Have you installed the latest drivers for your graphic card? It is.. pretty.. ancient. I don't believe Voodoo cards even support OpenGL, so I don't know if they can handle DirectX

Voodoo cards not only are openGL compatible, but they can emulate T&L techonology and games like NFSU2 can run on a voodoo5. They can handle perfectly as well directx and glide, but for soldat directx is the only needed API.
Make sure you have directx90b or 8.1. Go to soldat setup and turn off graphical options like anti-aliasing
Reinstall drivers: either the ones you got with the card or intall the amigamerlin 2.9 which you can get here:

Appart from this, close other applications before running soldat with ctrl-alt-del leaving only explorer and systray.

Voodoo 2 doesn't support direct x 7, which is soldat based on.You won't be playing soldat with a voodoo 2 anytime soon...
