My idea is simple, if someone is stuck inside a player collide/normal polygon, they respawn or die. I think that might help, but really, it could be done. This would be server-side protection, rather than client side.
Like? Hate? WTF does this mean? I'll be watching, so I can re-explain.

I don't understand. You're too lazy to type /kill or /mercy?

I guess he doesn't want t loose the 5 sec required to type /kill.....
Useless idea.

He's talking about wallhackers, not about people getting stuck in walls on accident...
That is, not only about people stuck on accident.

Oh, i noticed the name of the thread now. But.. do you know how the wallhack works? Because it seems to me this isn't going to help much.

haha, how DO wall hacks work!??! frankly i think this idea is great! - this idea is much better to eliminate wall hax than trying to fix individual poly glitches... also, couldn't you just check that if the person is bouncing around inside a wall like crazy, just kick those ppl. and also: Map Maker should be able to declare out of bound places! so that like in ctf_death or ctf_kampf, if you go out u get respawned! and in maps like B2b, just make it everything higher than the ends of the two long walls at each end and right above the top of the middle thing.
Good Idea!

Umm... No, I don't hack, so how am I supposed to know how a hack works?
Oh, and I am not complaining for me, its for alot of people that get stuck. Really, if you just respawned, then you wouldn't have to wait for respawn.

Knowing the problem is the first step towards providing the solution. We don't know if this will affect at all the wallhack at all.

i think he means, if you are in a standard polygon (everything collides) be it wallhack or-the explosives glitch, YOU WILL DIE AND RESPAWN

Hmmm, good idea, but what if you try to get out of the map or get blown out of the map? you'd die. If you had the flag like in ctf death, and you got blown into the wall, then u'd die and that would be unfair. Maybe we should just mae the maps either antihackable or different close polygons. take your pic.

It would be much easier for the map designers to just put a death poly in constantly wall hacked areas since even if they can go through polys they can still die if they touch a death one

the one thing is that you have to make sure to actually set the "kill-zone" sufficiently inside the polygons, not just one or two px, otherwise people will hit the walls hard and they physics might project them inside the poly 1 or 2 px and itd kill them when they were really just colliding anyway.

I was thinking on that too. Put bloody death polys. But i dont know if it really works. But nice idea ;D

yeah, but it is a pain in the ass to do that for every single poly...

Yeah, we would have to create a donut of polygons and put the bloody deadly one in the middle, pain in the ass for smaller polygons. And what if they used a health hack? They would just rebound.

Well brick I was mainly referring to parts such as those polys between the two bases in death and maybe the polys between the top and the tunnel in warehouse. Places such as that. I can't think of any maps that have polygons so thin that a death poly would be needed and the person could hit it.
