"Soft" Polys

OK, so my idea is to have polygons which have soft or loose ground. It would not appear any different graphically, but it would affect movement and physics.
Running would be slowed down, jumps would be lower, no ricochets, and maybe make the soldat slide a little more.
I think this would be good for making sand, snow, mud, and other types of terrain like this. It could have some strategic uses in game.
And maybe have a small graphical effect, like making the soldat kick up some particles of ground as he runs across this type of poly.

Yeah, I like this idea. But shouldn't this be in Mapmaker suggestions and improvements?

It's here because Soldat has to support it aswell, not only the map maker. It's a good idea, would add more feeling to the game.

i definately think its a good idea; but i'd also like to see advantages of certain types of terrain, where the soldier would have like more grip, or a faster turning radius (while being in contact/walking on such terrain)

i think it's a briljant idea

It's be easy to put in, just the "ice" polygon with reversed effects. I'm all for it

Bouncy bed! Phsics would have to be overhauled, he means reversed like instead of forward momentum, you get resistance from the polygon. Make it so u sink slowly ! and drown

NIce idea!! If this "soft ground" is made on soldat. U can make like ctf_vietnam with the dirt and mound.

i like this idea. i agree with whomever that the soldat should sink a little- if they stand in place for a while. i don't think this would be too hard to implement, either...

Bounce Poly's - Yeah, that'd be funky
Mud Poly's - Would also be interesting to prone in them and kind of sink so you can hide in the mud :D:D:D

Like a bouncy bed. thats very nice, if we could make an entire map out of squishy polygons and keep bouncing around.
