Why care if what he does doesn't hurt you in any way? Well, because you felt like writing a long post, he successfully wasted at least 15 minutes of your time, so...just ignore him.

Whoa, a simple private message (or in his case, an email) would work much better - he doesn't need to be flamed just yet. I already notified him a few hours ago and he seems to have stopped.

The point of making a thread about the issue and not simply PM him about it is that a thread would humiliate him infront of other people.

Just to bring up another point, whenever someone is pointed out to spam quite a bit and they obviously are, why can't they just say "Oh, sorry, I'll slow down on posting" (and no, I'm not saying this applies here, so don't complain captain ben).

I know when I first became more active on here, I was pointed out like this for two things: 1) the whole -Brick thing at the end of my posts and 2) for advertising my site too much.

So I just stepped up, made a thread saying "Sry for being stupid I'll stop now" and stopped whatever was offending people, i didn't just sit there and argue with them since they raised a valid point.

I think we should just replace post count with contribution. :P For example, there are forums that have this thing called a "contribution system." If you make a post that gives many good points and is meaningful to the community, reasonable members will click on the "Give (name) Contribution Points)" button and give you from, let's say, 1-3 points. Eventually, if you're respectful and stuff, you'll rack up points and people will know that you have been around for a while / should be respected. Nice thing about this is that it can't be whored so easily. With post counts, all you have to do is look for topics that you haven't posted in and post. With the C-system, people have to give you points. If you go around asking people for points, you'd just be looked down upon. Only way to whore this would be to create more accounts and give yourself contribution, which would lead nowhere because it would get your accounts all banned.

Anyway, back on topic, this thread is more gay than n00bface (no offense, Brick), and that barely ever happens.

Kaz, you should really suggest that in the Forum News and Support section. It's something that I would whole-heartedly embrace.
