Advanced movements and such...

I think that it would be pretty sweet if the next version of Soldat had some advanced movements you could do. Here are the ones I've thought of sofar...

Wall Push: As the name suggests, this manouver (I can't spell, bare with me) is simply just thrusting away from a wall when close to it, here's how it would work: You jump towards the wall (you have to be airborne to do it) then simply press the jump button when you hit it to fly off in the opposite direction at an upward angle. Note: This would also be cool if you could do it off the ceiling, but it would depend on how you hit it: If you went straight up and did it, you would go straight back down, but when you came in at an angle, you would bounce off in a downwards angle in the direction you were moving (like a bullet when it ricochetes (no, that is NOT how you spell it, but I think you get it).

Quick Launch: This is a way to get a quick boost into the air while in combat. While running backwards, you would do a backwards roll, then pressing jump. This would give you a quick FULL jump (like the one you can do while standing still) at an upward angle in the direction you roll (note, this would only be possible on a BACKWARDS roll, not a FORWARDS roll).

These are all I can think of right now (and I also gotta get going too).

Awesome ideas, it would make a whole new area of trickery and deception into the game!

IMHO too complicated and not needed.

You can do wall jumps already. And if you need a quick launch, just jump and jet...

didn't michal say that in the next version there'd be a wall-cling option?
i like the wall jump idea... closer to being a ninja-pirate!

Sounds fun but kind of useless.....

I like the wall bounce, but the launch seems sort of useless.

I know how to do it. Just hold alt and click on your polygons and press copy. hit paste like 20 times, and wah-la!

You push in the opposite direction that u want to go. It will then send u flying.

i'm sorry, batto is feeling a bit sick - however the ideas aint bad but the "only backwards" is pointless since the forwward and backward rolls are techincally the same except for the animation so all you'd have to do is face the other way. not usefull though (all of them)

I love both of these moves. I would personally like to see every move of Super Mario 64 implemented in Soldat.

In addition to your two suggestions, why not add the tripple-jump? Do two well-timed jumps in a row, and the third jump will be a super high forward flip.

Or the starjump - run forward, quickly press backwards and jump to starjump in an arc backwards. It would be great for bullet dodging and general evasive actions.

If u have played specialists, then u know that those little things can make diffirence. If this system would be in game, advanced player could use those things to do many complicated trics to fool his enemys when a I-Do-Quake player would just fly and shoot.
I think that this would add more depth to this game instead the endless shoot n' run playin.
