Since most of you don't read the webpage section,The soldat ezine's first issue is OFFICALLY OUT!
Please sign up on the forums and give us some creative criticism.
Interview with KAZUKI!
Also,map/video reviews,a sub-par cartoon,and a couple columns.
P.s , maybe we could eventually be an official soldat ezine?:P
Whats so funny?
C'mon,comments and criticism :P
i think it had a well thought out plot line, i really felt like i was pulled into the story, and at the end of it, i think there was a tear in my eye...so sad
nice job, now that we finally have a webmaster, I'll go ahead and work on the next review....one of YOU mappers can be nominated to be on the review! Work hard guys!
Hmm, I don't think you guys reviewed the right map... CTF_Haul has some major glitches which i'm still trying to work with.
I suggest, if you wish to review one of my maps, that you check out INF_Lighthouse, ctf_Forge, The Throne, or INF_Rescue.
Cool site, btw! But it takes a damn long time to load : (
Really? It worked fine for me.
/me shifts blame over to S4R
He's the one who got the site...blame him.
Yes..blame him heh ^_^..wait,who was the map reviewer?
its good but i just think i have enough soldat without the weekly magazine
Yes, but isn't it nice to get some highlights of what's going on?
It's not like it takes you hours upon hours to read...
nice ezine, gen0...
so what "improvements" will i have in my account? :P
mabye a hefty post countage?[/sarcasm]
but seriously, nice ezine-z0rs.
Soldat Magazine... Hmm... This is to go to my favorites.
Get rid of the cartoon section
Add something on coverage of CW's for Leagues, or maybe even something covering League's
Probably do some more interviews.
awww you already made an inf_rescue map? darn, now I have to find a new name for the one I have in planning for the Timeline project...
Have "Mod Reviews" replace the cartoon. That's all that this is missing, everything else is very professional.
Chakra and TheLink had done something like this once.. Although theirs was a soldat newspaper .. Anyhow, it didn't last very long :Q
Just keep it going and it will be awsome, I love the interview idea. Maybe Michal will let you interview him one day :P
One more template...
why people don't do their own template...
EDIT: and take a phpbb forum, invision free sux...
very nice ezine, though you may want to tone down the pictures a bit...
Aw heck, it's only the first issue guys, the future issues will be much improved, based on your comments :)
Felix, if you could make a better site for us, instead of giving us a suble insult, your help would be much appreciated.
I'd say you all did a great job, but people would bash on me and say that I'm only saying that because I'm in it. :P Well, great job anyway.
Thanks for all your comments.
This IS the first issue however,so it will be fixed and improved. No need to insult.
nice pic at the end of kazuki's review though XD
<--- kazuki____________--->kazuki's knife
Yeah that was a nice pic,so,lets vote on who to interview next :P
This was very good, I wish the screenshots were bigger for the map reviews, maybe you coul dhave a seperate page?
Nice cartoon, my criticism being it doesn't look realisitc XD
ooh! vote me! vote me!
ok not really, i vote luner.
Luner works for us,yet hasnt been active..
We also do signature/graphic requests.
ohh, yeahh, we do... *smacks genocide*
I make sigs now ^_^
how didtransit become a staff member?
He was when we created it.
It would be cool if you had non-departmentalized articles. Like someone could write something about weapons, or strategies, or just whatever. Im talking about the main part of a magazine: the rest is just monthly departments. you need a cover story, or something. You know what articles are. Make them interesting, like in real magazines. there are endless topics. "Barretts: Unfair or Just Annoying?" "Rekindling Your Passion for the Chainsaw." "AK74 vs Minimi." "Top 10 Reasons to Play Soldat." "Rambomode: Forgotten Fun."
you could have polls, user-submitted articles and letters, and a user-submitted picture section, featuring the best screenshot of the month.
I could write articles if you wanted.
that should be pointmatch: forgotten fun :P
Thank you for your suggestions, Swarmer. In fact, we have a whole section of our forums dedicated to fans who want to submit anything they want. Check it out
Because we've only completed our first issue, that section is empty, but I'm sure you can fill it up for us. ;)
the forums look really... complicated.
do we have to do the same registering process as joining soldat?
I think we should have a "complicated" forum in order to be able to organise the magazine properly :)
nIce ppl.. raelly cool with soldat Ezine :D
Review my cs_mappack in the new mapssection :P
Nice, very nice. Keep at it homes.
I'm going to work on a new template (custom made) for the site, since the site now was a premade template. I just wanted to get a site up quick. You guys just wait 'til issue two, nice suprise. *Winks at Vijch ;0
Skate, do you want to have sex, or do you just have something in your eye? :P
Thanks for all the praise, we're hard at work on the second issue and it should be coming out relatively soon (much sooner than our promised mapmakers *shakes fist at all the slow developers*).
Avarax, you silly goose, that's not quite how things work.
hey nice stuff!
*appladues and throws roses*
oooo0000OOOO a flash issue! gosh, bells AND whistles...
Is that a banana in your pants or are you just happy to see us? =D
Jeez, after the bump we got about 50 more people to read it..lol.
The new issue should be out in a week or two,we hit a hitch.
Michal?Make this an official link ^_^Heh..
If we made a button for the website, would Michal add it to the side?
I think a Soldat E-zine is a great idea. The interview with Kazuki was really interesting. You guys did a great job, especially for a first issue. Keep it up cuz I'll keep readin.
P.S. You should have an interview with Michal :)
We're still continuing to recruit though, the thing is with online magazines like these, there's always a few dozen of people signing up, but never doing anything after that.
We need to have plenty of writers to ensure that even if only a few of them submit anything, we still have enough to fill an entire magazine with.
Ok i'm sorry and i'll stop spam.
What do you think how long this magazine will survive?
Soldat isn't that large that an Online magazine is necessary and i think many people will just be too lazy to read it like me.
correct me if i'm wrong.
Avarax, look how many people read it AND commented? Now imagine how many didn't bother commenting?
I think it's gonna last as long as everyone keeps working like we are now.
I believe that if everyone keeps with it. and they have regular readers. the E-zine should last a pretty long time. I for one have loved the idea. So I will become one of the regular readers.
