Well I've had this problem for a real long time now.

First of, my weapon names (only deagles, beretta, and minigun) are not shown. Secondly, the names beyond 10 letters in the top corner are not displayed. Thirdly, I can't read what anyone says. Ever.

Have you tried reinstalling soldat?

What's your graphic card? How much RAM does your system have?
Have you tried disabling anti-aliasing?

Reinstall: Yes
Graphics Card: nvidia geforce fx 5500 agp8x 128mb ddr
Ram: 512
Anti-Aliasing: Disabled

Roll your drivers back to an older version.
