You spelt coffee wrong in your sig ! Or is that how Americans spell it, like color.....or is it a spelling mistake that I have ever so cleverly found !

The Geologist
March 20, 2005, 10:58 pm
I'm pretty sure it has multiple spellings, just like color :P But then again, I may have put in there on purpose for you to find...mystery abounds.

Edit: Actually, coffea is for the plant that coffee comes from...damnit. That'll teach me to cut and past my quotes.

Jaz

Man, I followed it all the way till the "Mystery abounds."

Original racist quote from bash and QDB:
quote:**You know you're in a Racist channel when you see this**
(19:22:54)<Jaayy> I like my coffee the way I like my niggers.
(19:22:59)<Naive-EOC> Dead?
(19:23:01)<Derid-EOC> In the Field?
(19:23:02)<Ball-licker> In jail?
(19:23:06)<Humur> Killing each other?
(19:23:08)<Naive-EOC> Stealing?
(19:23:09)<Sailym> Covered in blood?
(19:23:11)<Humur> 5$ a piece?
(19:23:13)<Derid-EOC> Stupid?
(19:23:20)<Jaayy> ...
(19:23:31)<Jaayy> BLACK YOU [IMAGE]S! I LIKE MY COFFEE BLACK!

revised sexist quote a-la-bash:
quote:(Deranged): I like my women like I like my coffee.
(Jet): Black?
(SteveTheImpermeableHamster): full of your cream?
(mistik): hawt?
(Jet): Columbian?
(Aimee): hot?
(Jet): From McDonalds?
(SteveTheImpermeableHamster): in a cup?
(Jet): Spilt all over your lap?
(mistik): cheap?
(Deranged): No..
(Deranged): Ground up, and in the freezer.
(mistik): oh
(mistik): lmao

the first one is like a bash classic, so naturally the second one was even better.

Is "spelt" and "spelled" different in English and American spelling too?

If not;
JAZ I BEG TO DIFFER!!

paramud
March 21, 2005, 8:42 pm
their both the same.
its like tomatoe and tomatoe.
EDIT: spelled is for "I" type stuff, spelt is for "You" type stuff

STEELIX

Paramud, really? Gosh, I'll have to remember that. I'd never heard of any english verb changing like that...

paramud
March 21, 2005, 10:13 pm
its not changing, its two different words with two different meanings.

STEELIX
March 21, 2005, 10:35 pm
I spelled, you spelt, we spelled, she spelt, =/

It's all about the verb "to spell" right?

Maxx
March 21, 2005, 10:37 pm
English is very complex, were just used to it.

I've been told it's really hard to learn english as a second language.

And, steelix I don't think I ever say spelt:
he spelled/she spelled

Kazuki
March 21, 2005, 11:32 pm
I don't think it matters. It's one of those words that has 2 different appearances, like you/thou, but you never use the words thou and thee anymore.

Vijchtidoodah
March 22, 2005, 12:00 am
No, paramud, you're wrong. Spelt is the past participle form of "to spell" but only in England. Here in America, we use "spelled".

Ignoring the fact that directly under your name it says "USA", no. But that doesn't matter in the least.

Chewbacca lived with Ewoks. Now that does NOT make any sense, does it? DOES IT?!!? No, so in conclusion, I think paramud is right. If the country does not fit, you must acquit!

Jesus Christ, Paramud. I didn't mind you before, but now you're just really [IMAGE]ing annoying. It's like you're trying to be difficult in the hopes that it'll make you sound complicated and sophisticated.

Why do people always 'beg to differ'?

Why not 'beg to complain like a grammar nazi'?

Yeah banned myself and was banned by the admins for two weeks. But since I just got unbanned I figured I'd at least check to see if this "beg to differ" stuff was still lingering, and apparantly some of you still find it amusing. I just hope it ends at some point in the future, that and i've already sort of come to terms with Jaz/Paramud/moo`, or at least have tried. Oh, and a word if advice for those Kifar whatever kids from t15, watch out for Paramud if you offend him too much he'll attempt to sue you.

Transit
March 22, 2005, 9:03 pm
Man I had no intention of starting a trend. The people that are continuing with it are the ones who can't let it go. I've already apologized to a lot of the people involved in that whole ordeal, but they didn't seem to care. But I am sorry for starting this. It sucks.

guys.. relax!

Maxx is partly right.
Ville, you only know english because you've learnt it in movies, TV, computer games and last but not least, in school.
English one of the harder languages to learn, and the only obvious explanation for it being so widely spoken is the british empire.
The english spelling makes imo no sense. why would you pronounce "colonel" as "cournel" ?? (many examples, i just can't think of any)

Judge Man, i must agree with you, french seems like a VERY hard language to learn.
