hi,
im setting up a server soon in my house for (amoungst other things) to run a soldat server on 24/7/365.25
but im wondering, does the linux soldat server run on freebsd? being that freebsd is a derivitive of linux?

lol dude late reply but ive recently looked into the same thing and found:

and its not a derivative as such. they use different kernels. um god this is a pit of snakes...

FreeBSD and Linux are both derivatives of Unix. And, as long as you have Linux compatibility installed (see the thread that i am ahab linked to) it should work
